Facts
Edgar Fajardo, a 30-year-old receiver and stocker for Lowe's Home Improvement, was driving his 2003 Honda Accord southbound on Bloomfield Avenue when his vehicle collided with the 1990 Acura Integra of Christine Park as she attempted to turn left onto Bloomfield from a library parking lot. The accident occurred just north of 183rd Street in Cerritos. Fajardo sued Park, alleging vehicular negligence. Park disputed the nature and extent of Fajardo's injuries, though she admitted liability.
Settlement Discussions
Demand: policy limits. Offer: $10,000.
Injuries
Fajardo claimed that he suffered soft-tissue injuries to his cervical and thoracic spine, and that the accident aggravated a pre-existing discogenic disease in his cervical and thoracic spine. He alleged that he will need medical treatment for the rest of his life. Park claimed that Fajardo's injuries were not caused or aggravated by the accident, and disputed the reasonableness of most of Fajardo's medical bills.
Other Information
The plaintiff's counsel reported that Park's insurance carrier has paid the full judgment plus prejudgment interest and expert witness fees.
