Facts

On June 28, 1997, plaintiff Maria Kostas was driving her automobile westbound on Moorpark Street in Los Angeles. Defendant Lucy Yen was driving her automobile eastbound on Moorpark. At the intersection of Moorpark and Vineland, the defendant made a left turn in front of the plaintiff's automobile. The cars collided. The plaintiff's vehicle was declared a total loss.
