Facts
Plaintiff Shaya Baird filed a class action against Sabre Inc. and other affiliates, alleging violations of the Telecommunications Privacy Act and the California Unfair Competition Law.
Baird argued that over an extended period of time, defendants sent mass transmissions of text messages to cell phones nationwide in an effort to solicit potential customers.
On May 8, 2013, the court dismissed the complaint. Baird then filed an amended complaint, and defendants again filed a motion to dismiss or, in the alternative, for summary judgment.
Result
The court dismissed the case with prejudice.
