On September 8, 1990, Plaintiffs driver and passenger were exiting a parking lot in their automobile at approximately 7:00 a.m. At the same time Defendant turned into this parking lot. Plaintiffs' vehicle was struck by Defendant with sufficient force to collapse Plaintiff's roof requiring the jaws of life to remove Plaintiff driver. Plaintiff passenger (and owner of the vehicle) sustained no physical injuries.

Plaintiff driver: face, head and upper body injuries; 3-week coma requiring hospitalization; lung contusions on both lungs and a collapsed left lung requiring thoracocentesis.
