In 1994, the plaintiff, Marcos Ortis, a 40-year-old lead maintenance man, had been employed by the defendant, Allergan Inc., for fourteen years. He was employed as a janitor during the first ten years of his employment and worked as a lead maintenance man during the last four years. On April 18, 1994, the defendant fired the plaintiff. The plaintiff brought this action against the
defendant based on a wrongful termination theory of recovery.
