Facts
On March 15, 1994, the plaintiff, a 56-year-old housekeeper, was a customer at the defendant supermarket. The plaintiff slipped and fell on meat blood and juices that had spilled onto the floor in the meat department. The plaintiffs, husband and wife, brought this action against the defendant supermarket based on premises liability, negligence and loss of consortium theories of recovery.
Settlement Discussions
The plaintiffs made a C.C.P º998 settlement demand for $150,000. The defendant made a C.C.P. º998 offer of compromise for $60,000.
