On Sept. 7, 1993, plaintiffs Deon and Glenn Browne Jr. were enrolling 14 and 15-year-old students in the defendant Los Angeles Unified School District. Plaintiff Glenn Brown Jr., was shot in the chest and critically injured. His brother, plaintiff Deon Browne, witnessed the shooting. The plaintiffs brought this action against the defendants based on negligence theories of recovery.
