Facts

On Oct. 4, 1999, the plaintiff, Sarah Watson, was struck by a Los Angeles County Metropolitan
Transportation Authority bus operated by Willie Dixon. Watson was walking in a crosswalk when
she was struck by the bus. The plaintiff was transported to County USC Hospital where she
stayed overnight for observation. As a result of the accident, the plaintiff suffered cuts,
abrasions, bruises and injuries to her back. While her other injuries resolved within several
months after the accident, the plaintiffÆs low back pain persisted and she continues to receive
treatment for the pain.
