The plaintiff, Marilou Manzon, a 25-year-old nursing assistant who was driving a 1999 Honda Civic was stopped for a red light on Tennesee Street in Vallejo when she was rear ended by the defendant, Dana Adams, who was driving a 1996 Honda Civic. Allegedly, the defendant was momentarily blinded by the sun and did not see the plaintiff's vehicle prior to impact. The defendant claimed that she was operating her car at a slow rate of speed when she bumped into the plaintiff's vehicle. Notwithstanding, the plaintiff claimed over $7,000 in property damage. The defendant denied liability, causation and damages.
