Facts

On Sep. 26, 2001, the plaintiff, Seung Hoon Ryu, a 20-year-old student, was a passenger in a Saturn being driven by Rolando Salazar on a roadway in Los Angeles. Tom La, while in the course and scope of his employment with Rainbow Awning Corporation, was driving in the opposite direction. When Salazar attempted to make a left turn at the intersection of Temple Street and Virgil Avenue, La's vehicle collided with the passenger side of plaintiff's car. The plaintiff sued La and Rainbow Awning for vehicular negligence.

Settlement Discussions

The plaintiff submitted a C.C.P. Section 998 of $100,000. The defendants offered $100,000 three months after the expiration of the plaintiff's $100,000 demand.
