Facts

Stanford Glaberson filed a class action lawsuit on behalf of himself and other non-basic cable subscribers against cable company Comcast Corp. and related entities for alleged anticompetitive practices.

Contentions

PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS:
Glaberson contended that Comcast violated Sections 1 and 2 the Sherman Act by acquiring competitors, therefore, reducing competition in the area and creating a monopoly.

DEFENDANTS' CONTENTIONS:
Comcast contended they were entitled to summary judgment because plaintiffs could not establish the essential elements of their antitrust claims.

Result

Comcast agreed to pay $50 million to settle the lawsuit.
