Facts
On April 5, 1991, the plaintiff, a 41-year-old plumber, was working at a residence job site. The plaintiff was in an alley cutting pipe that was sticking from the back of his truck when the pipe was hit by another truck at the job site, pulling the pipe threading machine onto the plaintiff's arm. The plaintiff filed this action against the general contractor, one subcontractor and two defendant trucking companies, one of which was dismissed without prejudice (with no contribution towards the ultimate settlement), based on negligence theories of recovery.
