A securities class action was brought on behalf of Arbtiron Inc. investors alleging the company violated Section 10(b) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and Rule 10b-5 of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) by making false or materially misleading statements in relation to Arbitron's planned rollout of Portable People Meter (PPM).

Result

Arbitron agreed to settle the matter for $7 million.
