Facts
On August 3, 1990, Plaintiff's son, then a 34-year-old truck driver riding a motorcycle, was killed. The decedent was traveling northbound on the 605 Freeway, during rush-hour traffic. He laid down his bike in the number 3 lane, skidded across to the number 2 lane, grabbed onto Defendant's truck bumper, and was ultimately dragged under the left front tire and run over. He died three days later, following several surgeries. Plaintiff was the decedent's mother, Billie Jean Avance.
