Defendants represented Plaintiff in bankruptcy proceedings beginning in 1983. Defendants advised Plaintiff certain taxes were dischargeable in bankruptcy; in fact, they were not, resulting in imposition of tax liens on Plaintiff's property and litigation with the IRS over unpaid taxes, penalties and interest.

Settlement Discussions

Plaintiff contended their demand was $57,000 and Defendant's offer was initially $15,000.

Damages

Losses of $40,000 in back taxes, over $30,000 in attorney's fees and $500,000 in lost property value.
