On July 5, 1994, the plaintiff, a 31-year-old gardener/handyman, was driving his 1984 GMC Cargo Van eastbound on California Street in Glendale. As the plaintiff entered the intersection of California and Pacific Street, the defendant driver's vehicle, a 1986 Ford Van, collided with the plaintiff's vehicle. The plaintiff brought this action against the defendant based on negligence theories of recovery.
