On Sept. 26, 1992, plaintiff Patricia Coplin, a 50-year-old restaurateur, was a passenger in the lead vehicle in a three vehicle rear-end accident. All vehicles were traveling northbound on the 405 Freeway in Los Angeles. Defendant Robert Saul admitted liability, but contested the nature and extent of the plaintiff's claimed injuries.
