On March 1, 1995, the plaintiff, Nabil Daoud, a 28-year-old pharmacist, reported his manager to the State Board of Pharmacist for filling excessive steroid prescription for two employer. To get away from his manager, the plaintiff requested a transfer, and then changed his mind. Defendant was then told he "quit" by refusing transfer. The plaintiff brought this action against the defendant based on wrongful termination and slander theories of recovery.
