The plaintiff, a 46-year-old bus operator for the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transport Authority was picketing in front of LACMTA's corporate offices during the bus operator's strike. The defendant, also an employee of LACMTA, was entering the parking garage on her way to work. The plaintiff claimed that the driver's side door mirror of the defendant's Toyota Corolla struck him, causing him to fall to the ground and sustain injuries.
