Marina Dowdall, 38, was driving her 1992 Volvo station wagon on a surface street in Long Beach when she was rear-ended by a 1995 Pontiac Sunfire driven by Ricky Harrelson. Dowdall sued for vehicular negligence. Harrelson conceded that he was at fault, but disputed the nature and extent of Dowdall's injuries.
