Facts
In May 2008, an alleged sexual assault by three male students against a female student, Jane Doe, occurred at University of the Pacific. The University initiated an investigation and judicial hearings after learning about the assault. After hearing 15 hours of testimony and deliberating for another 10 hours, the Judicial Review Board concluded that the University's sexual misconduct policy had been violated and expelled one student, suspended the second for a semester and suspended the third for a year. Doe withdrew from Pacific after learning she would have to continue going to school with two of the three male students. Doe sued the University, challenging the determination.
Result
The court dismissed the lawsuit.
