On Feb. 27, 1996, the plaintiff, a 32-year-old occupational therapist, was traveling westbound on Olympic Boulevard at the intersection of Lapier in Beverly Hills. The plaintiff was stopped for a red light when the plaintiff's vehicle was struck from behind by a vehicle driven by the defendant. The plaintiff brought this action against the defendant based on negligence. The defendant admitted liability but disputed the extent, nature and amount of the plaintiff's medical treatment and expenses.
