Facts
Mellie Ruth Galindo, a 64-year-old secretary, was driving a Honda Civic on I-5 near Tracy. Maria Lopez was driving a 1991 Ford Tempo behind Galindo. Lopez rear-ended Galindo's vehicle, pushing it into the rear of the car in front of her. Galindo's car then veered around and struck the vehicle ahead of it. Galindo sued Lopez for negligence.
