Plaintiff Sisay Mekonnen, 38, was living in an apartment managed by defendant Levine Property Management. In August 2001, the plaintiff arrived home and found her kitchen sink had flooded. The water was soaking the kitchen and living room floor. The plaintiff attempted to transfer the water with a bucket to her toilet bowl. As a result of spillage in the bathroom, the plaintiff slipped and fell, feeling a pop in her right knee.
Injuries
The plaintiff suffered a tear in the tissue of her right knee, requiring arthroscopic surgery.
