On Jan. 4, 1996, the plaintiff, a 20-year-old college student, was a backseat pasenger in a vehicle involved in an accident. The accident occurred when the plaintiff's vehicle turned left in an intersection and collided with another vehicle. The plaintiff brought this action against the defendant drivers based on negligence theories of recovery.

Settlement Discussions

The plaintiff made a C.C.P. º998 settlement demand for $100,000 (policy limits) to the defendant driver of the plaintiff's vehicle and the defendant driver of the other vehicle. After depositions, the defendants accepted the plaintiff's demand for $200,000.
