Facts

Plaintiff Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) filed suit against San Jose-based auto body shop Monterey Collision Frame and Auto Body charging that code words were used to disguise racial discrimination. The technician, of Chinese-Italian descent, was subjected to racial and sexual harassment. The technician who worked at the shop for six months was subjected to mocking names like "Bruce Lee" and mimicked martial arts movements.

Result

The parties settled for $45,000.
