The plaintiff entered into contract with Cedars Sinai Medical Center to conduct preliminary testing of 30 serums the plaintiff had developed. Cedars began testing and the preliminary results were inconclusive. Cedars terminated the contract.

On Oct. 2, 2000, Judge Morrow issued tentative rulings denying plaintiff's motion for a new trial on the defamation cause of action and granting Cedars-Sinai's motion for a new trial on the breach of contract cause of action, subject to a remitittur of $11,250. The court has not yet ruled on the new trial motions.
