In October 2000 the plaintiff, Victoria Figuerelli, 51, claimed that when she was on her way to her mailbox, located at the front of the apartment complex where she lived, she tripped and fell, fracturing her hip. The plaintiff sued 18200 Killion LLC, alleging premises liability.

Settlement Discussions

At the mandatory settlement conference, the plaintiff demanded $500,000 later reduced to $299,000, and further reduced to $150,000 at trial. The defendant made an offer of $50,000.
