Facts
Linex Technologies Inc. filed an infringement lawsuit against Hewett-Packard Co., Apple Computer Inc., Aruba Networks Inc., Meru Networks and Ruckus Wireless.
Contentions
PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS:
Linex claimed that it owned rights to the asserted patents. Linex contended that defendants designed, manufactured, or otherwise imported products that directly infringed on its patents. Linex contended that defendants' infringing products generally included wireless communication products that operated in a "multiple input, multiple output" mode over a wireless local area network.
DEFENDANTS' CONTENTIONS:
Defendants denied Linex's allegations, and asserted various affirmative defenses. Defendants also filed counterclaims against Linex and the other defendants for invalidity and non-infringement. Defendants also filed a motion for summary judgment on their counterclaims for invalidity and non-infringement.
Result
The court found certain disputed patents invalid as anticipated. For those patents found valid, the court concluded that the accused devices did not infringe them, and entered judgment in favor of defendants.
