Facts
For four days in 1993, beginning December 22, Plaintiffs Michael and Diana Yu's 15-month-old child had vomiting with progressive weakness and inflamed ears. Diarrhea began on December 26. During this period, Plaintiffs telephoned Defendant Dr. Susan Haack, their pediatrician, three times and then physically presented their child once on December 27. On December 29, 1993, the child was diagnosed with hemolytic uremic syndrome and died that evening.
Settlement Discussions
Plaintiffs contend they demanded $100,000 and Defendant offered $50,000. Defendant contends Plaintiff's demand was $250,000 until Friday before the trial.

The verdict was reduced by the Court to $225,000 due to MICRA and comparative negligence.
