Plaintiff, a 44-year-old mail carrier, complained that a female supervisor sexually harassed him. Thereafter, plaintiff alleged he was harassed, demoted and ultimately terminated from his position as a postal worker. Plaintiff attempted to resolve his issues at the union level. Thereafter, plaintiff filed suit against his employer and the individual supervisors. The plaintiff brought this wrongful termination action against defendant based on a sexual harassment theory of recovery.
Settlement Discussions
The plaintiff made a C.C.P. º998 settlement demand for $250,000. Per plaintiff, the defendant made an offer of $187,000.
Damages
The plaintiff claimed damages for post traumatic stress disorder and loss of income.

The settlement was reached approximately one year and three months after the case was filed. MEDIATION: A mediation was held on Sept. 9, 1997, before Magistrate Judge Carolyn Turchin resulting in the reported settlement.
