On May 22, 1991, Plaintiff Richard Vanis, a 46-year-old orthopedic surgeon alleged that while he was being discharged from the Defendant hospital the wheelchair was not locked properly in place, causing him to fall and sustained injury, and re injuring the area on which he received surgery.
