Facts

Thomas Garcia, 27, died in a workplace accident after falling into exposed pipe at a geothermal plant operated by a subsidiary of Ormat Technologies. Garcia worked for a third-party contractor that was hired to provide hydroblasting services at the plant.
Garcia's wife and three minor children sued Ormat Technologies and related entities.

Contentions

PLAINTIFFS' CONTENTIONS: Plaintiffs contended that defendants were liable for the wrongful death of Garcia.

Result

The parties settled for $6 million.
