Facts

On October 18, 1990, a baby boy was born to a diabetic mother; grava 5, para 3. The Plaintiff infant developed polycythemia evidenced by erratic hematocrits and blood pressures for 3 days. On the morning of the seventh day, the baby's heart rate reached 198/200 and he suffered an intraventicular hemorrhage.
