Facts

From 1989 to 1993, the plaintiff, a laborer in her early 30s, was employed in a male-dominated, public sector work place. She allegedly suffered a hostile work environment and harassment directed at her, including one co-worker threatening to rape her. The plaintiff alleged she was forced from her job and suffered depression and symptoms similar to post-traumatic stress disorder. The plaintiff alleged verbal harassment only and no physical harassment. The plaintiff brought this action against the defendant based on civil rights violations and sexual harassment theories of recovery.
