Facts

On Feb. 26, 1998, defendant Robert Courts hit Kirk and Ann Douglas' vehicle and pushed them into plaintiff Johanna Ang, a passenger in her father's car. As a result of the accident, the plaintiff, age 17, sustained soft tissue thoracic sprain, with no residuals. The plaintiff did not began physical therapy until six months after the accident. The defendant admitted liability and claimed that the plaintiff sustained minor or no injury.

Settlement Discussions

The plaintiff made a C.C.P. Section 998 demand for $2,999 on March 20, 2000, and then demanded $2,500 during trial. The defendant offered $2,500.
