Facts

On Feb. 15, 1996, the plaintiff presented to the ER at U.S. Family Care Medical Center for a severe dislocation of
the right foot. X-rays obtained at the hospital showed a talocalcanel dislocation with the calcaneus and the
remainder of the foot being displaced medially and proximally as well as rotated.
The orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Shah, was contacted and performed a closed reduction of the talocalcanel
dislocation, obtaining anatomical alignment. A short leg cast was applied and then removed on April 25, 1996.
Thereafter, the plaintiff received physical therapy and subsequently began weight bearing.
