The minor plaintiff, a 14-year-old girl at the time of the incident, was sexually assaulted and raped several years
previously while visiting the defendant restaurant for the purpose of submitting a job application. The assailant
was a close family friend of the restaurant manager who permitted the assailant to remain on the premises after
hours, serve the minor victim alcohol, and to use the restaurant to have sex with the victim.
Settlement Discussions
A mediation was held in mid-August 2002 and the case was settled at $645,000 one week later.
