Facts
The decedent was walking along the sidewalk on Arrow Highway in the City of San Dimas. As he was walking across a driveway, a car driven by the defendant approached the driveway from the slow lane. The defendant saw the decedent crossing and slowed to 15 mph. As she was slowing down she was rear-ended by the co-defendant. As a result of the impact, the first defendant's car was propelled forward into the decedent and he died several days later as a result of the injuries he sustained.
Settlement Discussions
The settlement sum of $86,000 was apportioned between the two defendant drivers as to $55,000 in total which constituted policy limits; $5,000 from Arco; $10,000 from the City of San Dimas; $15,000 from Verizon California and $1,000 from Jack in The Box and the defendant property manager.
