Facts

David Cowin filed a petition to confirm an arbitration award entered against Edward B. Chatoian, an attorney. The matter proceeded to mediation before Judge Patrick J. O'Hara. ret. The parties ultimately reached a settlement in which Chatoian agreed to make installment payments totaling $110,000 plus interest.

Contentions

PETITIONER'S CONTENTIONS: Respondent allegedly failed and/or refused to pay all monies owed after paying three installments. The arbitrator found that respondent failed to pay petitioner that sum plus interest and $1,200 in arbitration fees. The arbitrator then entered an award accordingly, prompting petitioner to file this instant petition to confirm the arbitration award.

Damages

Cowin sought $60,000 plus interest.

Result

The court granted Cowin's petition to confirm the arbitration award.
