Contentions

PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS: Plaintiff was a police officer for defendant for more than three decades and was allegedly assaulted and battered by defendant Parker. Plaintiff had filed complaints of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and other Fair Employment and Housing Act violations and had obtained the right to sue. Her claims were allegedly being investigated but to no avail. Plaintiff was a police officer for defendant for more than three decades and was allegedly assaulted and battered by defendant Parker. Plaintiff had filed complaints of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and other Fair Employment and Housing Act violations and had obtained the right to sue. Her claims were allegedly being investigated but to no avail. Plaintiff asserted causes of action for discrimination in violation of Government Code Section 12940 et seq., retaliation, failure to provide reasonable accommodations, failure to engage in a good faith interactive process, assault and battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress against Officer Parker, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

DEFENDANTS' CONTENTIONS: Defendants denied the allegations and asserted various affirmative defenses.

Result

San Francisco agreed to settle the dispute for $350,000.
