Facts

Plaintiff Martin Soroka sought judicial review of a final decision by the Commissioner of Social Security denying his application for Supplemental Security Income under Title XVI of the Social Security Act.

Contentions

PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS: Soroka alleged that the Administrative Law Judge erred in the determination of his residual functional capacity. Soroka argued that the ALJ improperly discounting the medical opinion of his primary care physician. Soroka further argued that the ALJ failed to consider the symptoms of multiple sclerosis, including remission.

DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS: The Commissioner contended that the ALJ properly discounted the opinion of plaintiff's primary care physician because it was inconsistent with the record as a whole.

Result

The court denied plaintiff's appeal. The court determined that the ALJ's determination that Soroka was not disabled was supported by substantial evidence.
