Facts

Cassandra Evans applied for social security benefits, which was denied both initially and on reconsideration. Evans then requested a hearing before an administrative law judge. The ALJ found that plaintiff was not disabled and therefore denied her application. Evans then filed for judical review of the denial.

Contentions

PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS: Plaintiff climed that the ALJ failed to give sufficient reasons for ignoring plaintiff's statements and testimony.

DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS: Defendant contended that that ALJ was correct in giving little weight to plaintiff's testimony as it contradicted the evidence and was inconsistent with plaintiff's own statements.

Result

The court granted defendant's motion for summary judgment, finding that the ALJ did not err by citing inconsistent statements as the reason for limiting the weight of plaintiff's testimony.
