Facts

Joseph Schofield filed a class action lawsuit against Delta Air Lines, Inc. in relation to disclosures for background checks.

Contentions

PLAINTIFFS' CONTENTIONS: Plaintiffs contended that Delta violated the Fair Credit Reporting Act because Delta failed to provide applicants with a stand-alone document that consisted solely of the background check disclosure, as required by law. Plaintiffs claimed that Delta's disclosure had extraneous information instead of containing the disclosure alone.

DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS: Defendant denied the contentions.

Result

The parties entered into a settlement agreement. Delta agreed to pay $2.3 million to settle the claim.
