Facts

Dahlia Grijalva filed a complaint against Nancy Berryhill, the Commissioner of Social Security, in relation to the denial of her application for a period of disability and disability insurance benefits.

Contentions

PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS: Grijalva contended that the administrative law judge did not properly consider her subjective testimony regarding the severity of her symptoms.

DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS: Defendant contended that the ALJ noted that the plaintiff's examinations did not support her claims. Furthermore, the ALJ found that plaintiff's treatment was infrequent. Moreover, it found that plaintiff's treatment was conservative with no indication of physical therapy ever recommended. Lastly, a psychiatrist questioned whether plaintiff put forth her best effort during an examination of her intellectual functioning.

Result

The court found that the Commissioner's decision was supported by substantial evidence.
