Facts

Ernest Gaona filed a complaint against Nancy Berryhill in relation to the denial of his application for Social Security disability insurance benefits.

Contentions

PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS: Gaona contended that new evidence he submitted demonstrated that the administrative law judge's assessment was not based on substantial evidence. The new evidence was from plaintiff's treating physician and it stated that Gaona suffered from depression, anxiety, poor memory, and had issues with his marriage. It further stated he was unable to complete tasks and could not communicate socially.

DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS: Defendant contended that despite Gaona's history of depression, anxiety, auditory hallucinations and paranoia, treatment and medication stabilized his condition and he could perform a limited range of medium work.

Result

The court affirmed the decision of the Commissioner.
