Facts
Eric Miranda filed an application for social security benefits pursuant to Title XVI. His application was denied both initially and on reconsideration. Miranda then requested a hearing before an administrative law judge. The ALJ determined that Miranda was not disabled and denied his application for benefits. Miranda filed suit against Nancy Berryhill seeking judicial review of the denial.
Contentions
PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS: Plaintiff argued the ALJ failed to properly evaluate the medical opinions, and failed to provide sufficient reasons for finding that his testimony and statements were not credible.
DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS: Defendant contended that the ALJ properly relied on the medical expert's testimony and disregarded sources that were exaggerated or not supported by the medical evidence, and that the ALJ properly excluded plaintiff's statements and testimony, as they were not fully credible because they were inconsistent with his activities and treatment.
Result
The court granted defendant's motion for summary judgment and affirmed defendant's decision in denying plaintiff's applications for benefits and finding that plaintiff was not disabled.
