Gina McLeod, a loan officer, filed a class action against Bank of America in relation to reimbursement of business expenses.
Contentions
PLAINTIFFS' CONTENTIONS: Plaintiffs contended that Bank of America required its loan officers to perform their duties while traveling between offices or facilities. However, they claimed, that they personally paid for expenses incurred operating their personal vehicles such as liability insurance, mileage, gas, parking, tolls and other expenses. Plaintiffs contended that Bank of America failed to reimburse them for these incurred expenses. Plaintiffs asserted causes of action for failure to reimburse business expenses under the Labor Code, Unfair Competition Law Violations and penalties under the Labor Code.
DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS: Bank of America denied the contentions.
Result
The parties reached a settlement agreement for $11 million.
