PLAINTIFF'S CONTENTIONS: Smith argued that the administrative law judge's residual functional capacity assessment failed to account for his episodic gout flares.

DEFENDANT'S CONTENTIONS: Defendant contended that the administrative law judge explained that she did not include the recommendation of plaintiff's treating physician in the residual functional capacity assessment because the recommendation that Smith use a cane was for a temporary time until the gout heals.

Result

The court affirmed the decision of the Commissioner of Social Security.
