Contentions
PLAINTIFFS' CONTENTIONS: Plaintiffs contended that defendants enrolled consumers in automatic renewal magazine subscriptions and charged their credit cards, debit cards, or third party payment accounts without disclosing conspicuously the renewal offer terms. As such, plaintiffs contended that defendants violated the California Automatic Renewal Law, the Consumers Legal Remedies Act, the False Advertising Law and the Unfair Competition Law.
DEFENDANTS' CONTENTIONS: Defendants denied the contentions.
Result
The parties reached a settlement agreement for $4,980,000.
